The project called for the full refurbishment of the nursery located in a residential area just outside Gloucester town centre.
As the building was a fully occupied and operational day nursery, Link Contracting had to carefully program how the works would take place and phased the refurbishment works to ensure the impact to the day to day running of the nursery was minimal. The majority of the works over the 12 week duration was undertaken out of hours so segregation was a key element of this project.
The extent of the refurbishment briefly comprised of the following:
- Internal decoration throughout, including ornate coving, radiators and pipework
- Formation of new children’s WC facilities and refurbishment of all existing WC’s including new WC cubicles, sanitaryware, Hi/Lo sinks and hygienic wall cladding.
- New vinyl flooring throughout.
- Formation of new nappy change areas and create milk kitchens.
- A new kitchen area, extended by the repositioning of a partition wall
- New LED lighting throughout the property.
- New vinyl flooring throughout.
- Repairs to external boundary wall to the front and rear of the property
- Uplift and relay the existing driveway to provide safe access to the property.
- Full external redecoration.
