The project called for the refurbishment of an office area for Historic England located on the third floor of Canada House, a Grade II Listed building.
As Canada House has listed status, no intrusive work to the original fabric of the building was undertaken. With physical remodelling limited to the partition stud walling and any intrusive work limited to the suspended ceilings or penetrations through temporary walling
Extent of the refurbishment comprised of the following:
- Redecoration throughout, including radiators and pipework
- New carpet and vinyl throughout
- A new cleaners cupboard, formed by new partition walls, including a new sink, ceiling light and sprinkler head
- A new kitchen area, extended by the repositioning of a partition wall
- The removal of old and installation of new ventilation to the kitchen area
- A new business hub, bounded by new partition walls
- A new partition wall adjacent to the entrance to the office
- New data installations (cabling and new data cabinet)
- The easing of sash windows, located on the east elevation of Canada House
- Provision of feeds and fused spurs for electric window actuators to ease sash windows
- New thermostatic release valves (TRV’s) for existing radiators
- Modifications to the door access control (by others) and the associated alarm system
- In-depth programming with detailed control and co-ordination of sub-contractors retained to undertake specialist elements of the project.
