As part of growing school, St Aidens Primary school required an extra classroom and Hall area to help expand the school’s needs. Link were brought in to develop an area between the existing hall and classrooms, creating an infill building.
This developed a combination of an extra classroom with teaching and cooking facilities for the pupils and a hall for physical activities, with an acoustic movable partition wall between the rooms to provide a larger area for teaching, performing or even examinations.
The build was of a structural steel frame system with brickwork external facades and curtain walling. With the roofing made up of a timber frame warm deck roof. Hard landscaping was introduced to ensure the immediate areas outside could be utilised and a school playground also.
